Texas mom’s life is ripped apart after husband and two young kids die in wrong-way car crash
Kelsey Bone of Athens lost her husband Michael Bone, 29, and her boys Waylon, 8, and Corey, 11, when their car collided with another.
Michael was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger at 1616 Farm to Market Road at 12:24 a.m. on Sunday, October 6 when the vehicle entered the westbound lane, KLTV reports this.
Michael’s pickup truck collided with a Nissan Armada driven by Merri Kelly, 57, of Murchison. All four people died.
“Michael Bone, you were too perfect for this world. This all makes no sense. I can’t even imagine Kelsey waking up and knowing y’all are gone again,” Michael Bone’s sister Sara wrote in an Oct. 7 Facebook post.

Texas DPS said Michael and his sons were pronounced dead at the scene, while Kelly later died at a local hospital. CBS 19 reported.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Michael and his sons were not wearing seat belts.
Farm-to-market (FM) roads are generally located in rural areas, such as the city of Athens, which has a population of just under 13,000.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
A GoFundMe was launched for Kelsey and her other three children on October 9, three days after the tragedy.
The fundraiser, designed to raise money for funeral expenses and other living expenses, has attracted 94 donations totaling $6,000. The goal is to raise $15,000.
More than three dozen others left online tributes for Michael, Corey and Waylon.

After the funeral on October 11, Kelsey publicly thanked everyone who showed up to pay their respects.
‘I want to thank everyone who came to tell my babies goodbye. It made my heart happy to see the impact all three had on this community. And how loved they were,” Kelsey wrote.
Merri Kelly, the other car crash victim, is survived by her husband Porter Kelly, eight children and 14 grandchildren, according to her. obituary.
One of her grandchildren, Brooklyn Byrd, wrote a poem about her, summarizing the day she died and the day she was buried.
Porter shared a copy of the poem, titled FM 1616, on social media and said he “loved it.”
