NFL quarterback Will Levis ruled out for second straight game just before kickoff

The Tennessee Titans are without quarterback Will Levis for the second week in a row.

The decision was confirmed shortly before Sunday’s tough confrontation against the Detroit Lions.

The Titans have had a poor season thus far and are 1-5, while the Lions are 5-1 and appear to be in imperious form.

Mason Rudolph will start for the second straight week for the Titans, while Levis continues to deal with an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder.

He first suffered the injury in Week 4, diving for the first time against the Miami Dolphins.

Levis then aggravated in Week 6 in the loss to Indianapolis Colts and missed the Week 7 loss to Buffalo Bills.

In a speech earlier this week, the 25-year-old underlined his frustrations over the struggle to overcome the problem.

“It’s hard,” he said. “I think any teammate who’s ever played with me knows that I’m the type of guy who perseveres and tries to play through anything.

“But at the end of the day you also have to be smart and essentially take care of my career and make sure I’m good the next time I go and play there.”
