Hugh Jackman’s ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness had ‘suspicions’ that the actor was working with Broadway star Sutton Foster in The Music Man.

It comes amid renewed rumors of a romance between the Wolverine actor, 56, and Foster, 49, following her split from husband Ted Griffin, 53.

The Tony-winning Broadway star filed for an uncontested divorce from the screenwriter in New York County Supreme Court on Tuesday. Page six reported.

Furness, 68, was reportedly concerned about the couple working together for the 2022 Broadway production – a year before Jackman announced the end of their 27-year marriage.

Furness, who shares adopted children Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, with Jackman, will not comment on the recent speculation because she refuses to speak publicly about her ex.

“Deborra-Lee wants to be left out of this story,” the source explains. ‘She will not comment on this and will not speak out against Hugh.

“When they divorced, they agreed to keep everything that happened during their marriage private.”

A second insider added: “Time has passed for Hugh to mourn his divorce and now that Sutton is over her relationship, they are getting closer to making it official.

‘They’re not going to shove it down everyone’s throat. They became good friends while working together and confided in each other about their individual problems.”

They continued: “Hugh still has huge respect for Deborra-Lee. They have children and that is important to both of them. They fix what they can, and they will never speak ill of each other.”

Jackman shocked fans when he filed for divorce from Furness last September.

“We are blessed to have had a beautiful, loving marriage together as husband and wife for nearly three decades,” they shared in a joint statement at the time. “Our journey is now changing and we have decided to part ways to pursue our individual growth.”

Months later, rumors began to circulate that Foster and Jackman had become close, with insiders telling PageSix this week that they had now become close. ‘in love.’

Georgia native Sutton, whose drama career spans three decades in theatre, film and TV, was previously married to Christian Borle from 2006 to 2009.

She married Griffin, whose credits include Ocean’s Eleven and The Wolf of Wall Street, in 2014. They share adopted daughter Emily, seven.

“He belonged in my family,” she told People of Griffin in 2018. “I didn’t really understand the concept of motherhood until he came along.”

Jackman is currently finishing his upcoming tell-all memoir, which promises to drop major bombshells about his life.

Furness has remained relatively quiet since her split from the Prestige star, but revealed she had “big plans” for her career post-breakup and embraced change in January.

She also told Australia’s The Daily Telegraph: ‘It’s exciting. You know what, change, transition, evolution is a little scary and we’re all a little afraid of it, but I think it’s probably our greatest gift.”
