Ryan Thomas throws lavish 16th birthday bash for daughter Scarlett – but ‘mum Tina O’Brien is nowhere to be seen’

Ryan Thomas pulled out all the stops for his daughter Scarlett’s 16th birthday, but there was one notable absence: her mother, actress Tina O’Brien.

The Coronation Street stars have had a tense relationship since Ryan claimed Tina damaged his Range Rover with a baseball bat in 2022.

And despite their daughter’s milestone birthday, the couple reportedly opted for separate celebrations.

A source said The sun: ‘Scarlett had her party at Barca Bar in Manchester last night.

‘Her father Ryan was there to keep an eye on things, but mother Tina was nowhere to be seen.

‘Ryan paid for and organized it, but as things are still tense between them, Tina missed it – no one wanted a showdown.’

However, another insider revealed that Tina, 41, had hoped to appear but was held up due to a long day on the Corrie set, where she plays Sarah Platt.

Ryan, 40, arranged a party bus for Scarlett and her friends and took them to Barca Bar in Manchester, where he admitted she banned him from attending the event, calling him ‘too embarrassing’.

Although he respected her request, Ryan didn’t let it go completely and recruited a friend to keep an eye on the group.

“Are there any other fathers worried about their daughter’s 16th birthday if they’re not allowed in?” he joked, watching from outside the room.

‘I’m keeping an eye on what’s going on. There’s a group of guys there… Hmm, we’ll see.’

Tina and Ryan first met on the set of Coronation Street and dated for six years until 2009.

He even admitted that he asked his friend to keep an eye on them all so that even if he was out of sight, he could still know what they were up to.

Scarlett is currently starring in the ITV drama Waterloo Road, playing Izzy Charles, the daughter of original characters Donte and Chlo who became teenage parents while at school.

The former couple and Scarlett’s parents hit the cobbles when Ryan played Jason Grimshaw and they were romantically linked both on and off screen.

The couple are proud parents to son Roman, four, and daughter Lilah, two.

Ryan is now engaged to former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, who he has been dating since 2017.

In March 2022, it was reported that Tina was accused of “smashing Ryan’s car with a baseball bat after an angry late-night argument.”

The publication told how Ryan had blamed ex-Tina for the damage to the wing mirror of his Range Rover, with a source at the time citing their ‘awkward relationship’.
