Vance Joy reveals fake letters from his ‘childhood crush’ Nicole Kidman left him in tears

Vance Joy has revealed that he was fooled not once, but twice by fake letters from ‘Nicole Kidman’.

The Australian singer, 34, whose real name is James Gabriel Keogh, has said he is a huge fan of the actress, who was his childhood sweetheart.

Earlier this year, The Project host Carrie Bickmore joked with Vance when he appeared on her Carrie & Tommy radio show on the Hit Network.

Carrie handed the Riptide singer a letter she claimed was from Bombshell star Nicole, 55, and left Vance in tears, but was left mortified when he discovered it was all a cruel joke.

“Well, Carrie was playing a joke on me, we were both in London and I came to the show,” he explained to The Project on Monday.

“I kind of told her that my celebrity was in love with Nicole Kidman,” he continued.

“So Carrie and Tommy wrote a letter from Nicole Kidman and they gave it to me and the moment I just believed it! It was cruel and I felt stupid, but it was also funny.’

Vance admitted he was in tears over the letter — and it wasn’t the first time someone had played a prank like this on him.

“When I was about eight years old, I was in love with Nicole Kidman and my aunt wrote a fake letter,” he confessed.

“So Carrie and Tommy wrote a letter from Nicole Kidman and they gave it to me and the moment I just believed it! It was cruel and I felt stupid,” he said on The Project

Vance admitted he was in tears over the letter — and it wasn’t the first time someone had played a prank like this on him. “When I was about eight years old, I was in love with Nicole Kidman and my aunt wrote a fake letter,” he confessed.

‘[She added] a Nicole Kidman magazine clipping and said Nicole wrote to you. And I knew it wasn’t real, but I played along for her.’

Vance said Nicole was “my childhood hero” and that he was always in love with the actress.

Unfortunately, the Mess Is Mine singer admitted that the Academy Award winner never contacted him and he is still waiting for an actual letter.
