Jamie Carragher took a step away from his pundit role to showcase his talents on the football field on Friday night – but not in the way you might expect!
The Liverpool legend, who was part of Sky Sports’ broadcast team for the Premier League match between Leicester and Nottingham Forest, took part in a hilarious challenge ahead of kick-off.
Carragher was spotted dressed as Forest’s ‘Robin Hood’ mascot before taking part in a footrace around the King Power Stadium against Leicester mascot Filbert Fox.
The hilarious incident was caught on camera as Carragher beat his rival to the finish before losing his feet and slipping.
In a video that circulated XDuring the race, Carragher’s shoes were seen flying off his feet, causing him to lose his balance and fall over at the end.

Carragher won, but despite both his boots coming off, he slipped and fell
Reflecting on the incident with fellow pundits Kelly Cates and Gary Neville, he said: ‘What we always say on this show: ‘find a way to win’.
‘We also say that about the best teams. I don’t normally get hit on Friday nights. They came off, but the head was so big I couldn’t see where they went in my peripheral vision.
Neville replied: “Do you know Sky asked Leicester if I could go in the Fox outfit and they said no! I was rejected as a mascot.”
Carragher’s venture as a football mascot comes shortly after the Liverpool legend made a guest appearance on Mail Sport’s own podcast Soccer AZ.
During which former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher revealed the hilarious way his current employers Sky mocked him – and it wasn’t with a mascot outfit.
Carragher referred to images of Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola fanning away from the ex-Reds defender during their playing days.
“I’m supposed to be one of your top experts and you’re making fun of me!” he explained jokingly.

Shortly after the race, Carragher returned to his typical pundit role and provided some pre-match analysis ahead of the clash at the King Power Stadium.
As it stands, Nottingham Forest sit in 8th place after a relatively strong start to the campaign for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.
Meanwhile, the Foxes sit in 14th place, just four points behind Forest.
