The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday announced its 10-man shortlist for the 2024 African Player of the Year award.

Right-back Achraf Hakimi of Morocco and Paris Saint-Germain were among the nominees, as were Nigeria and Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman.

Ivory Coast and Brighton winger Simon Adingra was the only Premier League player to make the list, which also included Amine Gouiri, Edmond Tapsob, Chancel Mbemba, Serhou Guirassy, Soufiane Rahimi, William Troost-Ekong and Ronwen Williams.

Among the star names who missed out on a nomination were Senegalese Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson and Liverpool’s Egyptian king Mohamed Salah.
