Travis Kelce is hit with Taylor Swift reference on ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?’
Travis Kelce’s performance has one major thing in common with his NFL career: a generous helping hand from his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
While hosting “Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end asked a participant the stage name of one Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Panelists Natasha Leggero and Nikki Glaser both recognized singer Lady Gaga’s birth name before using that answer as an excuse to reference Swift.
“We love Lady Gaga, but not as much as all the other blonde singers,” Leggero said. “There are some other blonde singers we like better than Lady Gaga.”
Glaser didn’t mince his words: “Not even close.”
Kelce obviously liked that answer.

‘I’ll have to agree with you on that. I agree.’
The first three episodes of the Amazon Prime game show premiered last week. And despite being new territory for him, Kelce’s debut is going over very well with fans on social media.

Another commented: ‘Are you smarter than a celebrity? …that was fun! Travis was great and the celebrities were great! I’m looking forward to the next episode.’
‘Travis is so good in Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity, it’s like he’s a professional. Wow,” said a third.
While someone shared a famous meme of former US President George Bush, shocked and joking: ‘They say Travis Kelce is killing it on Grotesquerie and Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? They say he’s a natural.’

Kelce’s presenting role on ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity’ isn’t his only venture into the TV world of late.
The NFL tight end has also made his acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s new horror series “Grotesquerie,” which premiered on FX earlier this month.
And if that wasn’t enough, he’s even landed a role in the upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel with Adam Sandler.
Although he proves to be very talented in front of a camera, Kelce’s ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity’ co-star Ron Funches admitted that things weren’t always smooth sailing for Kelce when he made his presenting debut.
However, the actor and comedian emphasized that he still took on the presenting duties.
“I got to watch his whole progress and it was really fun to see him come in a little unsure, as anyone would be on their first day at work, especially when it’s so different from your normal job,” Funches told Newsweek.
“You know, he had a few hiccups here and there, and you can see how much he cared.”
Leggero, another celebrity who helped the contestants win the jackpot, also revealed that she was pleasantly surprised by Travis.
‘We loved him. He was so cute and he was so prepared. He really blew me away because I didn’t have very high expectations… you could tell he took it very seriously and killed it,” Leggero also told the outlet.
