Patrick Mahomes’ father has been booked into the Smith County Jail in Texas.
The NFL star’s father has reported to jail to begin his sentence for his most recent DWI conviction, according to TMZ.
He was booked just before 5pm on Tuesday and is not expected to be released until October 31.
Mahomes Sr., 54, was arrested by Tyler police on February 3, eight days before his son won the Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas.
Footage obtained by TMZ showed him railing to police that his drunk driving arrest in February would cost his son. He also became angry with the police after they handcuffed him.

An officer observed his white Genesis traveling too slowly as he headed west in the 1100 block of W. Gentry.
Police checked his license plate, which had expired in September 2022, and he had an open can of beer in the car next to him when police stopped him.
“Are you serious?” Mahomes Sr. is heard. say, ‘I was going to go to the Super Bowl to watch my son play football, and this is what we do?
‘Can I say one thing? My son is getting ready to play in the goddamn Super Bowl, okay? Just listen to me. I’m not drunk. I promise you. I had something to drink. But he can’t have this now. Listen, this can’t be happening.
‘Guy. This is crazy. My son is getting ready to play in the damn Super Bowl and I’m doing interviews – five or six a day. And then, now, this son of a bitch is going to be on the news, which is going to mess him up, and it’s probably going to mess him up.”
“And he probably won’t win the Super Bowl. But that’s fine. If that’s what you want, that’s fine.’
Up until that point, Mahomes Sr. had been cooperating with police.
He was later taken to the Smith County Jail and held on a $10,000 bond. He made it to the Super Bowl the weekend after the incident and saw his son win his third ring, when the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25-22 in overtime.
Mahomes Sr. was later placed on five years’ probation over the incident.

The Chiefs quarterback was questioned about the incident ahead of the game against the San Francisco 49ers, but remained tight-lipped.
“I can’t comment too much on it, but I mean he’s doing a good job regardless of the situation,” Mahomes said.
“It’s a family affair, so I’m keeping it close to the family. That’s all I’m going to say for now.”
Mahomes Sr. was arrested again in Texas in June for driving with a suspended license.
In early August, Mahomes Sr celebrated six months of sobriety with an Instagram post.
“I want to thank my God woman, family and friends for six months on the sunny side of the road,” the elder Mahomes wrote on Instagram. “I know it’s hard getting to know down-to-earth Pat, but it’s worth it.”
His caption also included a message for his wife, Patrick II’s stepmother: “Trisha Mahomes thank you for all you do.”
