Property tycoon Brad Simpson’s chilling texts to friend two days after his wife vanished screaming from their $1.5m San Antonio mansion

A real estate mogul called in a favor from an old business associate just two days after his wife disappeared screaming from their San Antonio mansion.

Brad Simpson, 53, sent panicked text messages to his friend and business partner James Valle Cotter on Tuesday, October 8, telling him, “I don’t have much time.”

Simpson’s wife Suzanne, 51, was last seen on Sunday, October 6, at the front of her $1.5 million home in the city’s posh Olmos Park, having an altercation with her husband.

The couple walked into nearby bushland, where a neighbor heard shouting. She has not been seen since. Police believe she is dead and a search is underway for her body.

Now Cotter has been charged with tampering with evidence after police discovered an AK-47 in the wall of his home.

Police allege Cotter helped Simpson hide a gun that could be linked to his wife’s disappearance. KSAT reported.

Suzanne Clark Simpson, 51, disappeared from her million-dollar home at around 11pm on Sunday, October 6, following an alleged dispute with her wealthy husband, 53-year-old Brad Simpson.

A thorough investigation has already taken place into the Olmos Park family's four-bedroom, five-bathroom home (pictured), worth an estimated $1.5 million.

According to an arrest affidavit, Simpson texted Cotter the day after he formally reported Suzanne missing, writing, “If you’re in Bandera, can you meet me at your house?”

“I don’t have much time,” the original text read KENS5.

A secondary text would read: ‘Sorry for the urgency, but you’re all I have, especially right now… social media is killing me.’

Simpson has not been charged in his wife’s disappearance. But he is being held on a $2 million bond on two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and unlawful restraint.

When police and specially trained K-9s searched Cotter’s home, they found an AK-47 in a wall behind a mounted television.

The weapon reportedly had an orange string attached to it, allowing it to be pulled out of its hiding place.

Police claim they have footage of a safe in Simpson’s home where he kept his weapons, which previously showed an AK-47. When they searched the safe after Suzanne’s disappearance, the AK-47 was missing.

Cotter and Simpson have known each other for 25 years and have been business partners for many years.

In the meantime, large-scale searches are underway to locate Suzanne. Police have confirmed they are looking for a body.

The mother of missing mother-of-four Barbara Clark has revealed the terrifying phone call she made to Suzanne just an hour before she was last seen.

At a vigil in Suzanne’s honor at the Lourdes Grotto, Clark said, “She called me and told me what Brad had physically done to her.”

A neighbor told police he heard the couple arguing from his window and saw the two engaged in a physical fight, with Brad “grabbing her upper body to gain control of her body,” according to a police report.

Clark said Suzanne confided in her that Simpson had injured her arm and her back that evening, October 6, around 9 p.m.

‘I came up with an alternative plan for her, namely that she would move in with me and send her toddler to the primary school in my neighborhood.

“I never got to tell her the plan.”

Police released a terrifying photo of Suzanne earlier on the day she disappeared, showing her walking through The Argyle in Alamo Heights.

Suzanne was pictured alone in the exclusive members-only club, wearing a dark knee-length dress and with her hair falling past her shoulders.

Just hours after this photo was taken, a neighbor claimed he heard an aggressive fight between Suzanne and her husband.

That neighbor claims he saw Simpson punch and restrain his wife before they both wandered off into a nearby wooded area.

Shortly after that conversation, the neighbor claims he heard screams coming from the woods.

Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas has since confirmed: “That night we believe she was in distress.”
