Laura Loomer sues Bill Maher for $150M claiming she was in an ‘arranged relationship’ with Trump
Laura Loomer is suing Bill Maher after he claimed she had an ‘arranged relationship’ with Donald Trump.
The 31-year-old conservative commentator is going after the comedian (68) and HBO for defamation over comments he made on his show ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’.
Attorney Larry Klayman claims Loomer was directly “affected, victimized and seriously damaged” and is seeking $150 million.
A complaint filed in Florida alleges that Maher’s comments were broadcast with “malice” and are “false, misleading and defamatory.”
The complaint adds that Loomer was subjected to “unwarranted ridicule, embarrassment, loss of reputation and professional opportunities, and was financially harmed.”
Loomer, 31, is going after Maher, 68, and broadcaster HBO for defamation over comments he made on his show “Real Time with Bill Maher” about her and Donald Trump
A complaint filed in Florida alleges that Maher’s comments were broadcast with “malice” and are “false, misleading and defamatory.”
Maher commented on his show in early September, saying, “I think Laura Loomer may have an arranged relationship to influence the election because she is very close to Trump.
‘She’s 31, looks like his type… Who the f*** is Trump? Because I said, it’s not nobody. He’s been a dog for too long.
“And it’s not Melania. I think we may have our answer this week. I think it could be Laura Loomer.”
The lawsuit claims the comments “falsely and maliciously accused Ms. Loomer of adultery with Donald Trump.”
It adds, “Madam. Loomer has never had sexual relations with President Donald Trump. Defendant Maher had no factual basis for making this statement.
“He simply made it up for attention, fame, clicks and profit for himself and defendant HBO, his employer.”
The lawsuit also says Maher and HBO failed to “conduct due diligence and investigation into the real facts.”
It adds that Maher was informed of the lawsuit being filed but “retaliated and compounded the harm to Loomer” with another segment on his show.
That segment, titled “24 Things You Don’t Know About Laura Loomer,” “continues to make false, disparaging statements about Ms. Loomer.”
Loomer has sought damages of more than $150 million and a jury trial in the case
The filing also adds that Loomer had requested a public apology and that she would be invited on the show to “mitigate previous and any further harm.”
It is said that “the defendants arrogantly refused, underscoring the malicious intent to harm Loomer.”
The complaint also alleges that “anti-Trump” attorneys for Maher and HBO “cruelly and insensitively” threatened Loomer.
Loomer has sought damages of more than $150 million and a jury trial in the case.
Her attorney Larry Klayman said, “Ms. Loomer has been a strong supporter of President Donald Trump over the past decade in her profession as a conservative activist and investigative journalist.
‘Madam. Loomer promotes individual freedoms, strong national security, secure and closed borders, and constitutional conservative values in general, all of which align with President Trump’s pro-American policies and agenda.
“Accordingly, she became a target of Bill Maher and Home Box Office, both of whom advocate for Democratic Party officials and values.
“They attacked Ms. Loomer with defamatory statements as a means to harm President Trump and his campaign for President of the United States, and to damage Ms. Loomer’s credibility. Bill Maher is a known Trump hater.”

Loomer had previously vehemently denied Maher and threatened that he would be taken to court at the time.
She said, “I have to sue Bill Maher for defamation. This goes further than it turned out and is a complete and blatant lie.
She doubled down, calling the relationship allegations “incredibly disrespectful” to President Trump and First Lady Melania.
Following Maher’s comments, Trump delivered a blistering tirade against him and his evening talk show guests on Truth Social.
The former president, who accused Maher of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome,” labeled Maher a “confused mess, sloppy and tired.”
Loomer has become a fixture at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home despite her outlandish views, including racist comments about Kamala Harris.
Trump said at a news conference last month that he was unaware of the Loomer controversy and said he has no control over her.
In a more complete statement on Truth Social, Trump appeared to reject some of her more controversial comments.
He said, “Laura Loomer does not work for the campaign. She is a private citizen and a long-time advocate. I do not agree with the statements she has made.’
However, he then moved on to a statement of support for Loomer, saying that September 11 was an inside job and that as Kamala Harris, “the White House will smell like curry and the White House speeches will be facilitated through a call center.”
At a press conference afterward at his golf club in Los Angeles on the Pacific Ocean, Trump declined to criticize her.
He said: ‘I have no control over Laura. I can’t tell Laura what to do. She is an advocate.” Instead, he called her a “free spirit” and claimed to know nothing about the post in question.
Vice President Harris is the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants.
Loomer was spotted on Trump’s private jet, alarming many of the former president’s allies who believed she could hurt his chances in the upcoming election.
When contacted by DailyMail.com, his campaign did not comment on why Loomer was allowed to fly with Trump.
