Horrifying moment dog is lifted up into the air and nearly strangled after leash gets caught in elevator doors
This is the horrific moment a dog was almost strangled by its own leash after getting stuck between the doors of a lift and being hoisted into the air.
The black and white pup was spotted walking into the elevator in an apartment building in the Chinese city of Shijiazhuang on October 14, while its owner, an elderly man, stopped to pick up some bags.
When he finished his duties, he walked into the elevator, but was cut off by the doors before he could enter.
As a result, the frightened dog’s leash and harness became trapped. Seconds later, the elevator started moving, leaving the puppy dangling and waving its limbs anxiously.
Fortunately, the harness and leash broke, causing the dog to fall to the ground with little to no damage.

Dogs on leashes have been known to get stuck in elevator doors. Last year, a heroic Brazilian boy was praised for his quick thinking after his small dog’s leash got stuck in an elevator.
The heroic moment was captured on camera just as Thiago Magalhães, 11, and Milú were about to head to his building for a walk in Goänia, Brazil.
Milú is seen in the video following the boy into the elevator as her collar leash drags on the ground.
Magalhães wanted to press the ride button before the elevator doors closed.
The elevator moved within seconds and Milú was seen being pulled towards the ceiling of the elevator.
A frightened Magalhães grabbed the collar and was also dragged along with her.

Surveillance cameras show Thiago Magalhães being pulled to the ceiling of his apartment building’s elevator just before he could save his dog from possible suffocation by her own collar.
Somehow the boy managed to hold on to the belt and prevent Milú from potentially being choked to death.
They then fell to the ground when the collar broke. Magalhães later requested emergency assistance.
He told Brazilian outlet G1 that he entered a state of despair and panic when he saw his best friend dangling from the elevator ceiling.
“I don’t know where I got the courage from, I went impulsively,” Magalhães said.
He and Milú were trapped in the elevator and were safely removed without incident.
“I was very afraid of what was happening and realized that the situation was very serious and that it could have been fatal for both the dog and my son,” said the boy’s father, Rodrigo Magalhães.
