Mother breaks her silence to reveal shocking new detail about troubled footy star Ezra Mam’s car crash scandal

A mother who was in the Uber that collided with Brisbane Broncos star Ezra Mam’s car has broken her silence and revealed her daughter suffered a broken hip in the crash.

Mom’s Ford Ranger and the Toyota carrying the woman and her four-year-old daughter collided in the northern Brisbane suburb of Bardon last Friday.

The 21-year-old was reportedly moving when the incident occurred.

The woman has now revealed that both she and her daughter were hospitalized following the ‘traumatic’ incident.

‘She [her daughter] has a broken hip…she has severe burns from the friction of the seat belt,ā€ the woman told police Sydney Morning Herald.

Queensland Police conducted roadside tests at the scene of the accident, with Mam reportedly failing a drug test but returning a negative result for alcohol.

Police and the NRL Integrity Unit are now investigating the incident and awaiting the results of a secondary drug test, which could take weeks.

ā€œI remember looking up and immediately seeing this car swerve right in front of us. I knew what was going to happen,ā€ the woman said.

‘I also remember saying, “I have to get out, I can’t breathe.” The Uber driver jumped out of the vehicleā€¦ to let us outā€¦ the door was stuck and wouldn’t open.ā€

The woman was unimpressed by the media attention on the Broncos star, saying: “Nothing is said about my Uber driver or about us.”

She said Brisbane Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy contacted her but did not receive a call from Mam.

Mom’s management released a statement on Monday saying the star is seeking “immediate professional treatment” in rehab.

ā€œEzra is extremely remorseful,ā€ the statement read.

ā€œHe is primarily concerned for the other parties involved and understands the enormity of the current situation.

ā€œHe recognizes that he is facing some personal challenges and has taken a proactive step in the wake of these recent events by seeking immediate professional treatment.

Lawyer Tom Taylor, regarded as one of the most successful criminal lawyers in Canberra, has warned that Mam could face a prison sentence in the worst-case scenario.

ā€œThe precise nature of the allegations will really depend on the evidence gathered as part of this investigation,ā€ he told Nine’s Today show on Monday.

‘There is already some public information about it at this stage, but there is still some way to go.

“The types of charges and the consequences that will result will really depend on the evidence collected.”

Police have alleged that Mom was also driving without a license at the time of the accident.

However, Taylor says this may be the least of Mom’s worries.

ā€œThe two biggest charges are actually the drug-related charges [allegedly] in his system ā€“ if the blood sample taken at the hospital confirms the presence of a drug in his system,ā€ Taylor said.

‘If there are any injuries [by the occupants of the other car] then the accusations about driving and the [alleged] driving under the influence of drugs are the things he has to worry about the most.

‘Possibly, if injuries are sustained, this could result in up to fourteen years in prison.’
