MILF Manor star Joey Burford needs ‘facial reconstruction surgery’ after devastating scooter crash
MILF Manor star Joey Burford’s mother revealed this weekend that he was seriously injured in a traumatic scooter accident.
In one GoFundMe In a post on Saturday, Joey’s mother and MILF Manor costar Kelle Mortensen, 53, shared that he would need “multiple facial reconstruction surgeries” due to the devastating injuries to his face.
She included several photos apparently showing Joey shortly after his crash, with his once chiseled face now severely swollen, bruised and covered in fresh blood.
Both blackened eyes appeared to be swollen shut and he had a breathing tube inserted.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am contacting you today to share that my son, Joey, was recently involved in a serious scooter accident,” Kelle wrote. “This tragic event has led to significant complications, requiring him to undergo multiple facial reconstruction surgeries.

“Joey faces a long and challenging road to recovery, and as we travel this journey, we face mounting medical bills and the uncertainty of when he will be able to return to work,” she continued. ‘Your support would mean a lot to us during this difficult time.’
In an update posted Sunday, Joey’s mother announced that he had been in the operating room for three hours while surgeons worked to correct the broken bones in his face.
Kelle added that the family was “lucky” that Joey survived, adding that it was a “total miracle that he didn’t break his neck or back.”
She gave a positive update on Monday when she said her son could now breathe on his own, writing that the update came “just minutes after his breathing tube was removed.”
The most serious condition was apparently a hemorrhage in Joey’s brain, but Kelle said the bleeding had since stopped.
The next step in his treatment would be a swallowing test to determine if he was well enough to leave the ICU. If he passed the test, she wrote he could be moved to a floor for less serious cases and then possibly discharged on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
However, his long road to recovery would then include “additional facial surgeries,” and Joey would also need “extensive dental work” to repair the traumatic effects of the crash.
Kelle also wrote that he would be on a “liquid diet only” for at least six weeks due to “plates and screws in his face.”
In addition to the surgeries and procedures Joey will have to undergo in the coming weeks and months, he will also need “both physical and occupational therapy to regain his strength and independence,” his mother said.
As of Monday evening, Joey’s GoFundMe had received $33,362 of its $50,000 goal, with 339 donations so far.
His mother stated that the money would help with his “mounting medical bills” and cover his “medical expenses, surgeries and monthly bills while he focused on healing.”
Kelle also thanked those who donated in a short video posted to her Instagram Stories on Monday.

Joey, who could be discharged in two to three days if he passes a swallowing test, thanked fans himself in a short clip on his mother’s Insta Stories on Monday. Despite his injuries, he was completely intelligible, although his speech was delayed and he spoke in a hoarse voice

‘These have definitely been the two hardest days of my life. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It’s a complete miracle he’s still alive. I can’t even believe it,” she said. “Thank you Jesus for saving my baby.”
And in a particularly comforting update, she posted a short video of Joey speaking from his hospital bed.
Although his speech was delayed and unclear due to his injuries, he was fully audible as he thanked those who donated and kept him in their thoughts.
“Thank you to everyone who is praying and donating. I appreciate you more than you know,” he said in a hoarse voice.
