Kmart Australia launches $12 version of ‘it guy’ $110 men’s summer shirt that everyone’s talking about
A new shirt has attracted attention at Kmart Australia after shoppers noticed its similarity to a popular version that cost ten times as much.
The Oversized Striped T-Shirt ($12) features white stripes on a light blue base.
It has been compared to Ellesse’s Covana t-shirt ($109.95), which has a similar print with the addition of thin black stripes.
Kmart’s shirt also resembles Swanndri’s Melville t-shirt ($59.99).
Men have been fueling the ‘cool guy’ trend online ahead of summer, wearing an oversized T-shirt, sunglasses and loose-fitting jeans.
Kmart has recently been praised for its high-quality ‘dupes’ of designer goods, as shoppers on a budget can also discover fashion trends.
From a £35 dress set to fly off the shelves this summer, to a £15 dupe of a £9,900 Balenciaga handbag, shoppers are ‘obsessed’ with Kmart’s latest collections.
The shirt pairs perfectly with another Kmart garment that has delighted shoppers.

The Men’s Slim-Stretch Fixed Waist Chino Shorts ($20) are designed with two front and back pockets and a button at the top.
The affordable product resembles the Trenery Riviera Basketweave Short in Steel Blue, priced at $119.
At first glance, there seem to be few differences between the two aside from price: both options are made from cotton, have a mid-length design and a relaxed fit.
Last year, shoppers raved about Kmart’s cheap price, describing the shorts online as ‘so comfortable’.
“I need this,” someone wrote on Facebook, tagging a friend.
‘I love it!’ another wrote.
The versatile shorts can be worn for a variety of occasions in the summer, from casual outings to semi-formal events.

Several others also swear by Kmart’s clothing.
“Kmart has some good stuff at reasonable prices, and I’m usually happy with the quality.” The $5 men’s T-shirts were a godsend,” one person said.
“I buy my $7 jeans there and they are super comfortable,” wrote another.
‘It’s great to buy children’s clothes! My daughter starts daycare soon, I bought her several outfits for $30 so if she gets paint on them or if they rip it won’t matter. The shirts cost $3.50 each,” one mother said.
“I can’t count how many times I’ve bought expensive shirts and pants and they’re so thin they won’t last a year – while my Kmart clothes from five years ago are still good,” said one man.
“I had a pair of $12 black work pants that lasted me eight years. I was so sad when it finally fell apart last year,” another added.
