Aussie rages over council worker’s ‘disappointing’ act while emptying his wheelie bin
A homeowner has lashed out at his community after a worker accidentally threw rubbish onto his street while trying to empty his bin before fleeing the scene.
CCTV captured the moment a Brisbane man watched as a waste picker tried in vain to empty his green bin in September.
The truck’s mechanical arm failed to lift the bucket properly, causing the man’s garden waste to spill onto the road.
After the first attempt, the truck repeated the same action, only to dump more waste.
The truck drove away, leaving the man to shovel his trash back into the bin for collection the following week.
He shared the footage on TikTok and accused the council official of illegally dumping the contents of the bin on the street and suggested this warranted a fine.
“So Brisbane City Council, this is how your green waste collectors do their job,” the caption read.
‘How professional is he, the way he just drives away and leaves a mess behind? I think a fine for this illegal dumping is appropriate, yes?’

Sarah Hutton, chair of City Standards, said it was always ‘incredibly disappointing’ when waste collections did not go to plan.
Ms Hutton added that the mess should not have been left behind.
“The bin collections sometimes don’t go to plan, but seeing this mess on our streets is incredibly disappointing and the driver should have stopped and cleared it up,” she said.
‘If residents ever spot a bin spill, please let the council know via our 24/7 contact center and we will be there within a few hours to clear it up.’
