Aiyuk’s offseason was a roller coaster for the 49ers as contract negotiations were ongoing between the wide receiver and the franchise.
For months, the 49ers held firm on their offer and didn’t give Aiyuk what he wanted in an extension.

Aiyuk posted a video on social media FaceTimeing Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, listing Washington and the Pittsburgh Steelers as his preferred destinations if things don’t work out in San Francisco.
In the end, Aiyuk was paid the market rate and received a four-year deal worth $120 million.
The contract also comes with $76 million guaranteed and was pre-loaded with Aiyuk making at least $47 million before he steps onto an NFL field again.
The 49ers entered the season as one of the NFC’s favorites to return to the Super Bowl.
