Aussie bloke’s strange act after winning $1million lottery: ‘I had to make sure I wasn’t dreaming’

An Australian man washes his face before going to bed to make sure he doesn’t dream after winning a million dollars in the lottery.

The Adelaide man checked his ticket for the Lott’s Weekday Windfall draw last Wednesday and discovered he had become an overnight millionaire.

The happy Australian from Brompton, in the city’s north, told a Lott official he was still beaming after receiving the news.

He even admitted that he couldn’t sleep after checking his ticket.

“I checked my ticket just before bed last night and I wasn’t expecting it at all,” the man said.

‘I didn’t believe it! I quickly went to the bathroom, washed my face and checked again. I had to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.’

“I woke my wife up and we both stayed up all night.”

The man said the money meant he could finally pay off his mortgage, and that the money was ‘life-changing’.

Millionaire said he washed his face and stayed awake at night thinking he was dreaming after winning the lottery

He revealed that a change in strategy helped him raise the huge amount.

“I had favorite landlines that I had been picking for almost three years, but they never won anything, so lately I’ve switched to buying QuickPicks,” he said.

His entry for 25 games was purchased through the lottery app.

The winning numbers were 20, 39, 42, 26, 5 and 25. His additional numbers were 36 and 17.

So far this year, 25 of The Lott’s 260 Division 1 winners have been from South Australia.

The Weekday Windfall draw has made 98 Australians millionaires.

At the time, there were 108 winning Division I entries across Australia, winning a total of $107 million.

Across The Lott’s range of lottery brands, including Powerball, Oz Lotto and Set for Life, more than 132.8 million winners have won more than $4.4 billion in prize money.
