Young Australian man tragically dies after freak accident on camping trip in Kevington, Victoria
A young man was killed by a falling tree while sleeping in his swag during a camping trip.
Alex Oates, 27, was camping with a friend in Kevington, Victoria, when a tree fell on their campsite near Eildon-Jamieson Road about 3am on Saturday.
Emergency officials said the tree may have been eaten by termites, causing it to fall.

Alex’s family said he was always available to help his friends.
“The world has lost a beautiful soul,” they said.
The police will prepare a report for the coroner.
