Alvin Kamara erupts in furious social media rant as he responds to explosive trade rumors

New Orleans Saints star Alvin Kamara adamantly shut down rumors Saturday that he was looking for a way out of the Big Easy in a series of social media rants.

The wide receiver took to social media this weekend to hit back at online claims that he requested a trade from New Orleans following the Saints’ Week 7 33-10 loss at the hands of the Denver Broncos.

The 29-year-old labeled one report as “incorrect” when he responded to a post that has since been deleted, claiming he had “formally requested a transaction.”

The veteran’s tirade against the rumors continued in another tweet in which he labeled them a lie and suggested he was heading to Tennessee to watch his alma mater play Alabama in a key SEC game on Saturday.

“I don’t want to trade… so that’s a lie. Wearing an orange robe on my way to Knoxville..#WhoDat,” he posted.

Kamara later doubled down on his insistence that he was staying in New Orleans, while warning fans not to believe trade rumors unless the information came from him.

“If there’s any news I’ll report it from my couch or I’ll call my brutha @Cantguardmike and let him break the news ❤️ except we were out,” he wrote, referring to free agent Michael Thomas.

The trade speculation came after Kamara suffered his worst game of the season in Thursday night’s loss to the Broncos.

The wideout rushed for just 10 yards on seven carries and caught six passes for 14 yards in the Saints’ home loss.

Kamara had a spectacular start to the season – as did the entire Saints team – rushing for 362 yards and five touchdowns while catching 17 passes for 174 yards and one score in the first four games.

The great start was highlighted by a total of 180 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-19 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2.

However, his production has taken a significant hit over the past three weeks, with Kamara managing just 76 rushing yards and one touchdown on 31 carries, along with 17 receptions for 78 yards.

The Saints got off to an explosive start to the season going 2-0 through the first two weeks under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

But they have since slipped into a five-game skid, averaging just 17.3 over the past five weeks, with veteran quarterback Derek Carr sidelined through injury.

The Saints rewarded Kamara with a five-year contract worth $75 million in 2020 that expires at the end of the 2025 season.
