Watch hungry Ukrainian dogs line up in Donetsk for tasty treats after volunteers install a dog food vending machine in newly liberated territory.

Dog lovers don’t have much to celebrate lately when they watch the news coming from the front lines, but it’s not all doom and gloom in Ukraine.

Film producer Nate Mook said he had installed a makeshift dog food vending machine in the eastern city of Kramatorsk.

‘I’ve never seen anything like it. Yesterday we installed a relocated pet feeding station in Kramatorsk (with your support!),’ he said. “This morning the Ukrainian dogs were queuing up to eat.”

You can see the dogs politely waiting their turn to eat, remembering their manners despite their ordeal on the front lines.

‘No hustle and bustle. Do not fight. Everyone just politely waits their turn,” commented one social media user.

Dogs weren’t the only animals to use the food bowl, and local cats also stopped by for a free meal.

Mook has also spent his time rescuing kittens from the Ukrainian frontline to help the fuzzy animals get to safety.

But Mook doesn’t limit his altruism to pets. He has also been caught building a raccoon sanctuary in the war-torn country.

“We’ve seen a huge need for support for the animals,” Mook said the Dodo. “Dogs and cats that used to have a home.”

Mook recently helped deliver 500 pounds of donated food to an animal shelter in Sviatohirsk.

He has a PayPal link help house animals affected by the war in Ukraine.

Less than an hour’s drive away, Russian troops have stormed Ukraine’s eastern frontline.

“The main hotspots in Donbas are Soledar and Bakhmut,” President Zelenskiy said in his overnight video address. “There’s a lot of fighting going on there.”

The city of Bakhmut has been the next target of Russian forces in their slow advance through the Donetsk region since they captured the main industrial cities of Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk in June and July. Soledar is just north of Bakhmut.
