Kym Marsh was disappointed with her score to Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night’s show when she revealed how much time she actually gets to rehearse.

The former Coronation Street star, 46, has teamed up with professional dancer Graziano Di Prima and landed the dreaded dance last week after practicing less than 18 hours.

The actress closed the show last night performing the Quickstep to Sweet’s Ballroom Blitz, but landed herself at the bottom of the leaderboard after scoring 27.

The former Hear’Say singer received critical comments from the judges, because Anton Du Beke said the dance lacked her usual confidence.

Motsi Mabuse added that the performance was like “a sun coming in,” but said she saw uncertainty in Kym’s eyes.

Chief judge Shirley Ballas claimed that her Quickstep lacked “endurance” and that it was “not her best dance.”

Craig Revel Horwood disagreed with his fellow judges, however, saying, “I thought you came out absolutely confident.

“Your frame needs work, we all know that, but I thought the footwork was clean and, as Anton said, you flew across that floor, well done.”

The jury’s comments left BBC viewers shocked by the criticism when they said on social media that they thought the actress was ‘substandard’.

Kym, who has other TV commitments and is a mother of four and grandmother of three, said “some days it’s impossible” for her to work out.

She told Morning Live viewers, “It’s pretty tough. We train as much as we can. We put in as many hours as possible.

“There are days when it becomes impossible when my schedule on Waterloo Road gets too manic, like we lost Tuesday (this) week.

“I was in every scene, all day on Waterloo Road. It is difficult. I have two other jobs and I have a family. Those should also be given priority.’

Kym, who was in the dance-off last week, admitted he’d only practiced for less than 18 hours and said “it doesn’t feel right” to be in that situation.

She said, ‘Every week someone has to go. I wasn’t like oh my god this is me and it doesn’t feel nice and it’s not a comfortable feeling.

“You dance against someone you like, (and you realize) that it’s actually a competition and it’s awkward.”

Kym revealed that her family was great at encouraging her on the show.

Her 11-year-old texted her on Friday wishing her luck, which she admitted: “Those are the things that keep me moving forward.”

Meanwhile, her Italian partner Graziano said she is a “perfectionist” and is always “10 out of 10” during workouts.

He admitted, “I call her my warrior because I don’t know how she works, but she works in the morning, maybe until one, and we rehearse (until) eight, nine at night.”

Despite having to schedule her rehearsals around her scenes, Kym revealed that Waterloo Road offered her a space to practice, but she declined because she “needed another catch-up call.”

She said, ‘I just get so sweaty, your hair goes and your makeup goes. A very nice offer, but it doesn’t work.’
