Alison Steadman has revealed her secret heartbreak during filming for the Gavin And Stacey Finale.

The 78-year-old actress, who will reprise her role as Pamela Shipman in the very last episode of the BBC sitcom, honestly admitted that she is ‘going through a sad time’.

In a new interview on Friday, Alison said she has been across the country caring for her sister, who has been diagnosed with dementia.

She told me The mirror: ‘I’m going through a bit of a sad time at the moment. My eldest sister, 90, has dementia.

‘She’s confined to her bed and has no one to help her but me. I’m back and forth to Liverpool looking after her.’
