NFL quarterback delivers huge injury update amid fears he could miss Sunday showdown

Maye got the starting nod after Jacoby Brissett got off to an unimpressive start
Brissett was named the starting quarterback for the Patriots in their first season since the departure of Bill Belichick, despite drafting Maye in the offseason.
In his ninth year in the NFL, Brissett was favored over Maye because of his experience. After being drafted by New England in 2016, Brissett spent four seasons in Indianapolis before serving one-year stints in Miami, Cleveland and Washington before returning to Foxborough.
The Patriots haven’t made the playoffs since 2021, when they lost to the Buffalo Bills in the Wildcard round.
