Having problems with macOS Sequoia popups? Apple is working on it, but there is a fix now
Apple’s latest operating system, macOS Sequoiahas been out for about a month now and users are already complaining about a certain feature that has become a persistent nuisance for users.
To protect user privacy, the operating system displays pop-ups about app permissions. While this is a great way to inform and then remind users of their rights, the problem arises when these pop-ups appear constantly and excessively on the screen.
There have been complaints about this issue, including one from Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch, who was posted to his post X (formerly Twitter) account.
Just performed software update. I have this. Steve might have had an aneurysm. pic.twitter.com/TjXdrVYFQTOctober 16, 2024
There is also one Reddit thread about the issue with the original post that said: “It’s only been a day and I’m feeling completely overloaded by the number of pop-ups in macOS Sequoia. Seriously, it’s starting to feel like you’re using Windows all over again with the amount of “Are you sure you want to allow application access to your local network?” It may be dangerous! ”
It appears Apple plans to address this issue soon with macOS Sequoia 15.1 update, which will both take advantage of Apple Intelligence and make notifications less intrusive by marking apps as “trusted.”
However, if you can’t wait for this update and need a solution now, there is currently another solution. The recently created app called Memory loss This allows you to disable the monthly reminders to access screen recordings per app. And instead of paying a fixed price or subscription, you can simply donate whatever you want.
macOS Sequoia has many problems
This isn’t the first time users have encountered issues with macOS Sequoia either. Recently there was a feature breaking security error that caused issues with multiple security products, including enterprise solutions like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Microsoft Defender. And this problem still affects Mac VPNs like ExpressVPN.
Some Sequoia users have also experienced this USB connectivity issues. When you plug USB drives or chargers into the ports on the Mac, the system doesn’t detect them right away. Sometimes it takes quite some time for them to connect, and sometimes the operating system doesn’t find them at all. However, the problem doesn’t seem to be too widespread, which is probably why Apple hasn’t commented on it until now.
We even made a guide about it how to solve the most common problems that users have faced such as installing the operating system in the first place, Bluetooth bugs, Touch Bar not working and buggy browsers.
With a large number of problems being found in such a short time frame, it seems that the best option is simply to wait to install Sequoia until the problem is resolved. After all, that’s what Windows users have learned thanks to the fact that the operating system suffers from similar problems after every new version of the operating system.
