Iconic Married At First Sight filming location in Byron Bay with mineral pool and macadamia farm goes on the market for $15m
The beautiful Byron Bay mansion that served as a couples retreat in Married at First Sight 2024 is on the market for $15 million.
Known as ‘Hinterland House’, the vintage homestead is surrounded by dense bushland and has eight bedrooms and six bathrooms.
Set in 7.6 hectares of grounds, the beautifully preserved property features classic Federation styles including wide verandas, high ceilings and stained glass windows.
According to The Byron Coast Times, Brisbane businessman Mitch Carter bought the heritage-listed home in 2016.
He later converted the farm’s former homestead into boutique accommodation, ensuring its original character was retained.
The palatial hall, which seats 16 guests, has been used as a venue for fashion shoots and weddings.
It was also where MAFS bride Lucinda Light attempted to lead a yoga session on the dating show earlier this year.
“Being on MAFS created tremendous publicity for the property, and we have quite a following on social media,” Carter told the publication.

He said he was selling it to focus on his business interests in Brisbane.
It was previously available to guests willing to pay a staggering $5,000 per night for a minimum three-night stay.
Located in the Bangalow hinterland, 12km from Byron Bay, the original homestead was built in 1906 on a 240 hectare dairy farm.
Built over four years with handmade bricks, the expansive main home features four-metre high ceilings, chandeliers, stained glass windows, parquet floors and a wraparound veranda.
Each of the homestead’s four bedrooms features a lavish bathroom, while French doors and wooden fireplaces give the living areas a fantastic Old World atmosphere.
