The Electric State trailer gives Millie Bobby Brown a giant robot friend

Based on the 2018 graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag, The electrical condition Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) plays Michelle, an orphaned teen living in a dystopian world and recovering from an attempted robot uprising. After meeting Cosmo, a mysterious robot who she believes may hold the key to finding her long-lost brother Christopher, Michelle embarks on a journey through the remains of the American Southwest in search of him. Along the way, Michelle is joined by Keats (Chris Pratt), a small-time smuggler, and his robot sidekick Herman (Anthony Mackie). So it’s kind of an unofficial mini-Avengers reunion leading up to the big shebang.

It’s certain looks such as a film inspired by the work of Simon Stålenhag, who has gained fame for his work richly rendered paintings of retro-futuristic rural areas, bulbous automatons and dilapidated technology. The electrical condition is the second adaptation of Stålenhag’s work since 2020 Stories from the Loop Starring Rebecca Hall, Paul Schneider and Sir Jonathan Pryce.

The electrical condition premieres on Netflix on March 14.
