IDF investigates claims that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been KILLED in Gaza after images showing terrorist’s body circulate

Israel is investigating whether Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar was killed after an operation in the Gaza Strip.

It comes as graphic images are circulating online claiming to show the terrorist leader’s body.

The grim photos show what appears to be a corpse resembling Sinwar lying on a pile of rubble, with a catastrophic head wound and wounds all over his body.

The Israeli army said in a statement: ‘Three terrorists were killed during an activity by IDF fighters in the Gaza Strip.

“The IDF and Shin Bet are investigating the possibility that one of the terrorists is Yahya Sinwar. At this stage the identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed.”

The statement continued: “In the building where the terrorists were killed, no signs of the presence of abductees were found in the area.

“The IDF and Shin Bet forces operating in the area continue to operate with caution.”

Sinwar is considered the main architect of the October 7 attacks on Israel, in which 1,200 people were killed and 250 taken hostage by Hamas and other terror groups, according to Israeli figures.

After the massacre, IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht vowed that Israeli forces would not rest until he was found and killed, declaring him a “dead man walking.”

He has remained elusive throughout the year-long war in Gaza, hiding in the Hamas tunnel network under the Gaza Strip.

The only visible glimpse of him came in a video filmed just a few days after the outbreak of the bloody conflict.

The black-and-white footage, discovered by IDF forces during a raid earlier this year, shows a man believed to be Sinwar making his way through a tunnel with his wife and three children while carrying a large bag.

‘That bag contains about 25 kg of dynamite. There are at least 20 hostages around him,” said Kobi Michael, Sinwar’s former Shin Bet interrogator.

“We’ve had a chance to kill him a few times, but if we do, he’ll kill all the hostages around him.”
