Sir Bruce Forsyth’s widow Wilnelia shows off her incredible dance skills after ruling out Strictly Come Dancing while her star husband was alive
Sir Bruce Forsyth’s widow Wilnelia showed off her incredible dancing skills in an Instagram video on Tuesday.
The former Miss World star previously ruled out taking part in Strictly Come Dancing while her husband was alive, explaining: ‘I don’t think my husband would have taken the judges’ criticism very well.’
However, recently Wilnelia has shown that seven years after Bruce’s death in 2017, she could be a strong contender for the glitterball trophy.
In a video recorded this week during her 67th birthday in her native Puerto Rico, the beauty is seen showing off her best moves.
Wilnelia, who inherited almost all of Sir Bruce’s £11.5 million fortune, looked stunning in a black mini dress as she hit the dance floor.

Captioning the Instagram post, which has been translated into English, she said: ‘My dear brother Enrique and Marisol surprised me with a delicious birthday cake on Saturday evening. It was truly a celebration of leaving to launch our first golf tournament.
‘To be held on February 27, 2025 at the East Golf Course in Dorado Beach to benefit Delia’s Respite For Caregivers for caregivers with Alzheimer’s disease. Thanks for the support.’
Fans gushed over the post, with one user saying: ‘Looks like you had a great birthday! I think you’d definitely win, Strictly Winnie!’
Wilnelia and Bruce lived together in Surrey after she was first introduced to him at the Miss World competition gala in London in 1980.
She retired from modeling after marrying the Strictly host in 1983, but remained the only Puerto Rican to win Miss World until 2016.
Her husband sadly passed away in August 2017, at the age of 89, in his home, surrounded by his family, after a battle with bronchial pneumonia.
A year after his death, she revealed that nothing in their house had been moved since he left; the books, jewelry, and family photos stayed right where they were.
Wilnelia spoke candidly about her husband’s death in a candid interview with The Mail On Sunday in 2018, where she revealed she still talks to him every day.

She said, “Sometimes it feels like yesterday. I can’t believe it’s been a year.
‘I was in London the other day and I was rushing because I thought I had to get home. But then I realized: what’s the point?
“I’m trying to be strong for the family, but if I told you it was easy, I’d be lying. I miss Bruce every day. He was my mentor in a way.
“He was so knowledgeable about everything and was such an easy person to talk to. I could talk to him about absolutely anything.
“I talk to him all the time anyway, but I miss sharing all the good news in the world, and the bad.”
Also in 2018, Dame Wilnelia spoke of her joy at marrying the iconic entertainer.

During an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, she passionately admitted: ‘I was so lucky to be married to him for 34 years. It was a very happy marriage.’
She said she is grateful she was able to make some special memories with Bruce before he passed away.
‘He quit Strictly and he didn’t manage to do the last show; the Christmas show,” she said.
“He was planning to do some traveling and somehow carry on and stay in showbiz. He wanted to be with his family.”
Bruce had children Debbie, Julie and Laura from his twenty-year marriage to first wife Penny Calvert; Charlotte and Louisa from his second marriage to Anthea Redfern, and Jonathan Joseph ‘JJ’ Forsyth-Johnson from his third marriage to Wilnelia.
