Beauty queen dies in horror crash after her pick-up truck crashed into ravine then caught fire
A former beauty queen was killed in a horror crash that also left two other people injured when the pick-up truck she was in crashed into a ravine and burst into flames.
Samanta Villarreal was traveling in a Ford Lobo in the northeastern state of Nuevo León, Mexico, when it crashed and overturned on a bridge on Sunday.
The impact of the accident sent the pickup down a slope, where it caught fire.
Firefighters and Red Cross paramedics were able to remove all three victims from the vehicle.
Villarreal, mother of a four-year-old girl, had no vital signs and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local Mexican news media reported that the vehicle driven by the late former beauty queen Samanta Villarreal was chased down a road in the northeastern city of Villaldama moments before it crashed into a bridge and overturned before catching fire.
Her sister and a friend were rushed to Sabinas Hidalgo Hospital, where doctors reported them in serious condition as of Tuesday.
The Nuevo León Attorney General’s office has opened an investigation into the accident.
Several local news media reported that their vehicle was being chased before it crashed.
Samanta Villarreal was crowned Tourist Queen of the municipality of El Carmen in Nuevo León in 2018 and participated in the promotion of cultural events during her reign.
She studied public accounting at the Nuevo León Autonomous University and lived in Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo León.

The Nuevo León Public Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation into the car crash that killed former beauty queen Samanta Villareal and injured two people, including her sister.
The model’s death stunned her loved ones and the beauty pageant community, including Alberto Roque, who oversees the state’s tourism queen pageant.
‘On behalf of the entire Tourism Queen pageant family and myself, we pray with the sadness that overwhelms the Villarreal Nuñez, Villarreal Soto and Núñez Treviño families for the very regrettable loss of Samanta Núñez who participated with enormous pride as a representative of El Carmen in the Nuevo Leon Tourism Queen state pageant 2018,” Roque wrote on Facebook.
“There is pain for which there are no words,” he added. We send you a hug from the bottom of our hearts.’
“I can’t believe it because God had to take you to heaven if you had a whole life left to live,” wrote Blankys Villarreal. ‘RIP Samantha and may the eternal light shine on you. Our deepest condolences to the entire family.”
