Aussie actor reveals his shock transformation as he loses 26 kilograms to play a meth addict and shares confronting before and after images
Sam Corlett has undergone an extreme body transformation, losing 50 pounds to play a meth addict in his new movie.
The Australian actor shared several confronting images on Instagram of his dramatic weight loss for his new film He Ain’t Heavy.
The Vikings: Valhalla star revealed his lean build and radical transformation in the before and after photos.
“With guidance, I went from 92kg (for Vikings: Valhalla) to 66kg for this film,” he wrote.
“I found that the physical structure gave me so much mental clarity and emotional access, allowing me to serve the character of Max.”
Sam told Confidential he ate “just one meal a day for four months” and walked 20 to 30,000 steps a day to lose weight.
However, the actor admitted that it was difficult to get back to healthy eating habits after filming ended.
“Dysmorphia after that for sure, I had a hard time getting back to normal,” he said.

‘My diet previously consisted of training for Vikings so I had to find a completely new normal and my stomach was used to consuming so much food.’
Sam is a rising star thanks to his breakout role in the hit Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla.
He studied at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts before landing a role in the film The Dry alongside Eric Bana.
After falling in love with acting, he landed a role in the Netflix show Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina.
But his role in Vikings: Valhalla – the Vikings spin-off set 100 years after the Lothbrok era – has been a game changer.

In the show, Sam plays the lead role of Norse warrior Leif Eriksson, who was reportedly the first European to set foot in North America.
He told me before Australian Men’s Healthhe never set his sights on acting or Hollywood, but rather took up drama at school to help combat his anxiety, which soon developed into an ‘obsession’.
“I always watched the original show with my dad growing up so I knew he would be happy if I ended up doing this,” Sam said of his role in the sequel.
“I was at a Netflix meeting and all they said was, ‘One push of this button will send 222 million people around the world.’ I still can’t fathom that idea.’
