Davante Adams given crude nickname on Jason Whitlock show following Jets trade
Davante Adams’ recent move to the New York Jets was seen as a weak move by a guy on Jason Whitlock’s Fearless program, who came up with a rude name for the receiver.
After a dramatic trade saga, Adams finally found his way out of the grasp of the Las Vegas Raiders and rejoined former teammate Aaron Rodgers in New York.
Analyst Steve Kim appeared on Whitlock’s show and called Adams’ deal with the Jets an act of desperation.
‘Is it Davante Adams or Desperation Adams? Everyone here is desperate,” Kim replied when asked about the profession. “Davante wants to get away from a toxic environment in Las Vegas.”
‘Like many other people, he went to Las Vegas with a lot of money [and] chatted out. He wants out,” he said.

The Jets acquired the wide receiver the morning after a 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein would miss two crucial field goals as the Bills trailed Rodgers and Co., handing them their third straight loss as they fell to 2-4.
While crediting the move, Kim noted that the Jets have bigger problems that would not be solved by acquiring Adams.
“The Jets, after last night, that game really shouldn’t have been that close,” Kim said. “Buffalo was clearly the superior team. The referees did their best to leave that game to Aaron Rodgers and his team.”
“I think it’s a good move,” he added. “I think they have bigger structural problems, though, Jason. They don’t block very well.’
On Tuesday morning, Rodgers surprised the Pat McAfee Show when Adams made a cameo during his appearance. They played together for eight seasons in Green Bay, where they combined for 7,517 yards and 68 touchdowns.
Adams looked for greener pastures in Sin City in 2022 before publicly falling out with the team early this season.

The receiver initially denied rumors that he wanted to leave Vegas. However, his eventual departure was accompanied by several signs of tension between him and the organization.
On October 1, Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders “would consider trading WR Davante Adams in a package that would include a second-round pick and additional compensation.”
Eight days later, Raiders coach Antonio Pierce claimed that Adams was ‘still a Raider’ and would be ready to play in their colors after recovering from a hamstring injury.
“There were years where Davante and Aaron Rodgers were probably as happy as they could be in Green Bay,” Kim added. “They were winning games. They were productive. They were elitist. They were happy.’
“For whatever reason, whether it was money or profile, because they were in a bigger market, they wanted out,” he continued. ‘I think that’s a life lesson. Sometimes you’re better off where you were.’
Adams, who has played in three games for Las Vegas this season, is still questionable despite arriving in New York on Tuesday. The Jets hope to break a three-game losing streak when they face the Steelers on Oct. 20.
