Jets allow star Haason Reddick to seek trade – after he hired ‘most ruthless’ agent amid dispute

According to multiple reports, the New York Jets have allowed Haason Reddick to seek a trade.

Amid his struggle to get paid, linebacker Reddick turned to one of the league’s most notorious agents, Drew Rosenhaus, amid the ongoing ugly dispute with the Jets following his trade from Philadelphia in April.

And Rosenhaus appears to have already relented, as the franchise has given Reddick and his representatives a “short window” to seek a trade before the star has even played one game for the Jets, according to Dianna Russini.

The agent has reportedly begun reaching out to potential teams over the past twelve hours as he desperately tries to secure a trade for his new client.

Reddick was traded to the Jets this offseason with the belief that the move would bring a new contract, but he has yet to get anything done.

The 30-year-old pass rusher would forfeit approximately $800,000 for each game he misses, as he would make $14.25 million this season.

In total, he has already missed out on more than 9 million dollars, consisting of various fines for skipping practice and training camps, and his match controls.

Last week he was dumped by his agency CAA, which stuck to its ‘no pay, no play’ stance.

However, Jets owner Woody Johnson recently revealed that he hopes a change in leadership will convince him otherwise.

The Jets parted ways with head coach Robert Saleh after last week’s loss to the Vikings in London, and interim Jeff Ulbrich took charge of his first game Monday night.

‘I hope the young man can come to the team. We would like to have Haason here,” Johnson said.

‘We would welcome him with open arms. I’ll extend that. And I haven’t spoken to Jeff, but I think he would feel the same way.”

The linebacker turned to infamous NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus amid the ugly dispute

After being dropped by CAA, Reddick turned to Rosenhaus, who is also the agent of fellow NFL star Tyreek Hill and has previously represented Johnny Manziel, Antonio Brown and Rob Gronkowski, among others.

“We look forward to working with the Jets to resolve this as quickly as possible,” Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“Haason wants to be a New York Jet for years to come and our goal is to make that happen.”

According to Schefter of ESPN, Ryan Matha – who works for Rosenhaus’ agency – is also representing Reddick.
