Strictly Come Dancing’s Nick Knowles is the third star to be eliminated as he loses the dreaded dance-off with tearful Luba Mushtuk after battling various injuries
Nick Knowles became the third star to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after he and Luba Mushtuk lost the dance-off to Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.
Both pairs performed their routines again; Shayne and Nancy performed their Cha Cha to Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use) by Sub Sub feat. Melanie Williams.
Nick and Luba then performed their Charleston to Rain on the Roof from the film Paddington 2.
Despite narrowly returning to the competition as he recovered from a shoulder and knee injury, Nick, 62, was soon sent home by all four judges: Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.
When Tess asked about their time on the show, Nick said, “I’m really surprised by how much I enjoyed it and two things that happened.”

He explained, “One is how much you care every week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let your partner down.
“The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s amazing.”
Luba said, “I have never met anyone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you will be very happy. I think you’ve done more than your best. Thank you.’
When Tess asked him about his partner Luba, Nick said: ‘Luba has been amazing and so fantastic every day.
‘And I would also like to say thank you to all the background staff, the physios, all the people who have actually helped me through this week, and to all my fellow competitors who have been absolutely amazing, beautiful people.
“There are some great dancers there, and I’ll enjoy watching the rest of the series.”

After Nick was announced as one of the dancers who would be performing for his place again, he told Tess that it was the right decision for him to dance again.
He told the host, “It’s true.
“There are some fantastic dancers here and for some reason I wasn’t able to.”
Craig Revel-Horwood then gave Craig some lead ahead of his second outing.
He told the DIY SOS star not to worry about the dance and just throw himself into it.
He said, “You just have to work on the ideas in a more extreme way.
‘Don’t really worry about the dance; the Charleston is like that, just throw yourself into it.”
Nick agreed before adding that it was time, telling Tess it was a case of ‘go well or go home’ before adding that he would try to throw himself into his performance.
Nick told the hosts it was time before he took the floor for the final time, telling Tess it was a case of ‘go good or go home’.
But despite Nick’s actions, it wasn’t enough to save him.
Craig told Tess he wanted to save Shayne and Nancy before complimenting the TV presenter, telling him: “You threw caution to the wind and that’s the best I’ve seen you dance.”
Anton Du Beke echoed Craig’s assessment, telling the reality show host that both couples upped their game at the last minute and it was one of Nick’s best performances.
But it was the end of Nick’s tumultuous time on the show and during his final dance with Luba, the other stars took to the floor to say goodbye.
The dazzling show also included a special routine from our fantastic professional dancers to Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’, choreographed by Mandy Moore and starring Nikita Kuzmin and Karen Hauer.
There was also a performance of ‘Everything’s Here’ and ‘Nothing’s Lost’ by Snow Patrol.
The remaining 12 couples will hit the dance floor next week when ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Saturday, October 19, with the results airing on BBC One on Sunday, October 20.

Nick was told by doctors on Friday that he would be able to return to the floor to dance on Saturday, a week after the injury forced him to withdraw from Movie Week.
Nick broke his silence and gave the positive news on Instagram that he will be back on Saturday evening. He admitted that he missed last week and had really caught the dancing bug.
He began, “Hello everyone. Well, I watched last week’s show and felt so sad that I wasn’t there. Of course I enjoyed cheering everyone on, but I really missed it. I missed being part of it.
‘When I signed up for Strictly I never thought for a moment that I would enjoy dancing the way I do, and I’ve caught the dancing bug so I’m really excited to be back tomorrow. ‘
Thanking his support system, he added: ‘I’m so grateful to all the physios and medical team at the BBC for getting me back on my feet. See you tomorrow night.’
A BBC spokesperson also said: ‘We are all delighted that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk will be dancing in next Saturday’s show. Nick has been cleared to dance by the medical and physiotherapy team following his injury last week.
‘As there is no more training time this week, they are performing their Movies Week Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2.’
Meanwhile, Fleur East broke the news during It Takes Two on Friday, confirming to fans: “Nick Knowles and Luba will be dancing again on Saturday, we will finally get to see his Charleston.”
On Wednesday he returned to rehearsals and prepared to perform the dance with his professional partner Luba.
Sunday’s Results Show also featured a special routine from the professional dancers to Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams, choreographed by Mandy Moore and starring Nikita Kuzmin and Karen Hauer.
There was also a musical performance of Everything’s Here and Nothing’s Lost by Snow Patrol.
