Daughter waiting at airport for her mom, 78, to pick her up finds out she was murdered while she was flying
A woman has been left traumatized after waiting an hour for her mother to pick her up at the airport, only to discover she had been murdered while flying.
Great-grandmother and retired nurse Patricia Jimerfield, 78, was killed Tuesday in her home at Northwest 26th Avenue and 99th Street in Vancouver.
Her daughter, Stephanie Ayersnan, was supposed to meet her that evening at Portland International Airport after flying in from Phoenix, but Jimerson never arrived.
“I told my mom I was leaving and she liked it so I knew she saw it,” Ayersnan told ABC affiliate KATU2.
‘But she never responded. I texted, texted, texted, I called her home, I called her cell number, no answer. I waited about an hour.”

Ayersnan said she called her aunt to tell her something was wrong, and the aunt rushed to her mother’s house and found her “face down on the floor” in the house.
“She ran to get the neighbor, and they both tried, but she was gone,” Ayersnan told KATU2, sobbing.
“We would grow old together and I would take care of her.”
Ayersnan added that her mother was scared because her home, where she had lived since 1984, had been broken into the day before.
“She was nervous,” the daughter told CBS KOIN.
‘She didn’t know how they got in. She told our friend that she was not afraid. I think deep down she probably was.”
Ayernsnan added that she believes her mother was targeted. “I don’t know, it feels personal,” she said.
Jimerfield, 78, was killed Tuesday at her home at Northwest 26th Avenue and 99th Street (pictured) in the Hazel Dell, Lakeshore area of Vancouver.
According to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office, Jimerfield was strangled with a wire or cord Law & Crime. There were no signs of forced entry into the home.
Earlier on Tuesday, Jimerfield discovered her wallet was missing and filed a fraud report with the local sheriff’s office after noticing suspicious bank charges.
Police have not yet made any arrests or publicly identified a suspect. The investigation into the murder is ongoing.
Ayersnan pleaded with the public for help in identifying the perpetrator.
“They took my heart, my rock, my soul, and I don’t know how to move on,” she told Fox. KPTV.
“If anyone sees anything, has seen anything, knows anything, please call the police. I really want whoever did this to be caught.”
