Piers Morgan has jumped to the defense of Cristiano Ronaldo after recent reports suggested no club wanted to sign the Portuguese star this summer.
Ronaldo has been criticized this week for leaving the bench early in the midweek win against Tottenham before manager Erik ten Hag revealed he refused to come on.
The 37-year-old was left out of the squad for the Stamford Bridge game against Manchester United, leaving him even more in doubt about his future at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo informed the club of his desire to leave in the summer in search of Champions League football.
He was denied a transfer as United were keen to keep him after his 24 goals last season, the club’s highest goalscorer.
But reports this week have suggested that there has been no investigation into Ronaldo and that even clubs in Turkey were unfazed by the prospect of signing him.
However, Piers Morgan, a strong supporter of Ronaldo, has jumped to Ronaldo’s defense and insisted that he turn down a large offer from Saudi Arabia.

“More lies have been leaked by Utd management to harm him… @Cristiano was offered a €130 million offer to play one season in Saudi Arabia but turned it down,” Morgan tweeted.
It is not the first time the 57-year-old has defended Ronaldo. Earlier this week he accused United of being ‘disrespectful’, saying: “I find the collective disrespect for Cristiano from his manager and many Utd fans, after all he has done for your club, not least last season , shameful. That’s my opinion.’

Ten Hag’s decision not to play Ronaldo mid-week paid off as United put in their best performance of the season with a 2-0 win over Spurs, thanks to goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes.
In recent games, the Dutchman has tended to take the former Ballon d’Or winner off the bench and planned to do so again on Wednesday before Ronaldo refused to be replaced.
He has remained a minor player so far this season, scoring just once in the Premier League, with Ten Hag putting his trust in younger forwards Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and new recruit Antony.
