Lizzie Cundy accuses ex pal Meghan Markle of making recent hospital charity gala appearance ‘all about herself’ in scathing remarks

Lizzie Cundy has accused her former friend Meghan Markle of writing “all about herself” during her recent hospital charity gala.

The pair were previously friends after meeting at a charity gala in 2013, but the Duchess of Sussex, 43, moved on to ‘ghost’ Lizzie, 56, after meeting Prince Harry.

And they narrowly avoided an awkward encounter last week as they both attended the LA Children’s Hospital gala.

Speaking GB News on Saturday Lizzie said sarcastically: “I bet she was happy to see me!”

She added about the evening and what she thought about Meghan being there: “It’s the event to be seen. I was hoping she would do something for charity, maybe give a speech, but it looked like she was only there for the photo op.

‘She hadn’t been there that long – there was a funny point where a lady asked for a selfie and her face looked like she’d swallowed a wasp.

“She needs LA, but LA has had enough of her. She cooked a goose there. She makes it all about herself.”

She added that the charity was ‘doing great work’ but thought the Duchess was ‘making it all about Meghan’.

At the event the pair managed to avoid an awkward interaction as Lizzie sat at the top table, while Meghan was surrounded by her top security team.

Lizzie looked sensational as she showed off her ample cleavage in a low-cut red dress.

Adorned with beaded detailing, the star put on a very leggy display in the dress, which also featured a high leg slit.

Lizzie completed the look with a pair of red heels and seemed to be having a great night at the event as she shared a sweet selfie with Sugar Ray Leonard.

Others who attended the event included presenters Kaley Cuoco, Jamie Lee Curtis and Colin Hanks, while Demi Lovato also performed during the evening.

Lizzie and Meghan’s near reunion comes after Lizzie claimed last year that she was tried to land Meghan a role in Made In Chelsea before meeting Prince Harry.

The star has previously said she became friends with Meghan after the pair had a charity dinner together in 2013.

And during another performance GB Newsshe told Nana Akua that the former Suits star was keen to join the cast of the E4 reality show.

The ex-WAG said: ‘I was friends with Meghan for a while and got along really well with her. I was asked by a friend to look after her at a charity event and I thought, ‘Who is this woman?’ No one actually knew who she was.

Lizzie continued: ‘She wanted a boyfriend and wanted to get into the showbiz scene and wanted a job in British TV, and actually Made in Chelsea, the show.

“So I said, ‘Look, if I can help you, I will,’ which is what I tried to do. I tried to put her in touch with Ashley Cole, the former Chelsea player, but she wasn’t his type.

‘I said I would try to put her in touch with some guys, she wanted to stay in Britain. She wanted a British boyfriend. So she ended up getting it and winning the lottery.”

Lizzie previously claimed that Meghan and Prince Harry named their daughter Lilibet as a tribute to her, and not the Queen.

Lizzie said: “This is the event you need to be seen at. I was hoping she would do something for charity, maybe give a speech, but it seemed like she was just there for the photo op.”

Speak with OK! magazine Lizzie said: ‘My name was Lilibet. It’s short for Elizabeth. It was my nickname at school!

“Thank you Meghan. You ghosted me – and now you name your child after me. I appreciate it.

‘At school my name was Lilibet. When I heard it on the radio, I turned around and said, ‘That’s my name! I haven’t been called that for years.’

‘I was quite shocked by it because it is an unusual name. Maybe that’s her way of connecting. But I wish them the best and I think it’s wonderful.’
