Jono Castano reveals he’s prioritising his mental health and ‘time for family’ amid acrimonious split from Simone Holtznagel weeks after they welcomed first child

Jono Castano has revealed that his focus on fitness is now as much on his mental health as his physical being.

The famous personal trainer, who welcomed his first child with his ex Simone Holtznagel earlier this year, tells the Daily Telegraph that as he gets older, his priorities have changed.

“It’s crucial to find the balance between work, relationships and self-care,” the 33-year-old said.

‘Prioritizing time for family, health and personal interests in addition to professional obligations leads to a more satisfying and meaningful life.’

He continued: ‘Exercise significantly improves mental state by releasing endorphins, reducing stress and increasing self-esteem.

‘It improves mood, promotes better sleep and can promote social connections, all of which contribute to overall mental well-being.’

The ACERO gym owner says his mental health and time for himself will be a focus going forward.

“The most important lifestyle lesson I learned is that you have to take care of yourself,” Jono told the publication.

“When I prioritize my mental self-care, I can manage stress more effectively, think more creatively, and maintain a positive outlook on life.”

It comes after Simone Holtznagel took another savage swipe at her ex-boyfriend following their bitter split.

The Australian model, 31, quietly split from the personal trainer about nine weeks after they welcomed their daughter Gia on Easter Sunday.

Jono eventually confirmed the news of their split in July, and Simone has since said she is raising Gia alone, cryptically noting that she “couldn’t change” her partner.

The Australia’s Next Top Model star has taken another thinly veiled swipe at her ex-boyfriend as she made a telling move on social media.

In her latest swipe, she liked an Instagram post that joked about feeling nauseous in the father of your child.

In addition to a shot of Rowan Atkinson’s iconic character Mr. Bean, gagging in disgust, captioned it: “Knowing you were once attracted to the father of your child.”

A humorous caption written by content creator JayDee Milo added: “Who’s up for it [vomit emoji]???’

Simone’s representatives declined to comment when contacted by Ny Breaking Australia.

The dig comes after Simone broke her silence on their split, saying she “couldn’t change” the man she loved as she hinted at the reasons behind their breakup.

‘I wanted to be an example for my daughter; that’s something that has changed for me. One day I thought, ‘What am I doing? This isn’t right.’ And I would hate for her to ever be in this situation,” she said Stellar.

‘Ultimately you have to do what’s right for you. No matter how many promises or anything people make, if they show you who they are, believe them. Because you can’t change people.’

Simone also said she is content raising her baby Gia, six months, alone and feels confident she made the right choice.

‘I’ve never been so sure of anything, and I know I can do it myself. It’s a shame that I have to do most of it alone, but I really couldn’t think of it any other way,” she said.

‘What I do just feels very good to me. The most important thing for me is that Gia is happy and healthy, and that I am happy too.’

In another swipe, Simone recently discussed the positives and negatives of doing motherhood ‘alone’, despite seemingly sharing parenting duties with Jono.

In a recent interview, Simone failed to mention Jono in an apparent swipe while thanking her family and friends for their support.

When asked about the aspect of motherhood that surprised her, Simone told Women’s Health, “Positive: I can do this on my own. Negative: I do this alone.

“My family and friends have definitely gone above and beyond for me, and I’m fortunate that the negative parts feel a lot easier when they’re by my side.”

Simone welcomed her daughter Gia with Jono on Easter Sunday, but the couple split just nine weeks later, with Jono confirming the news in late July.

“Who knows what the future holds, our idea is to just be the best parents to Gia at this stage,” he told Ny Breaking Australia in a statement at the time.

A close friend of the couple then revealed that the writing had been on the wall for quite some time about the end of Simone and Jono’s relationship.

A source told The Daily Telegraph that several friends and family members warned Simone that her model lifestyle was incompatible with Jono’s career as a fitness influencer.
