Robert Saleh breaks his silence after Jets firing
Robert Saleh has broken his silence following his shock resignation as head coach of the New York Jets on Tuesday,
Saleh was relieved of his duties by Jets owner Woody Johnson two days after their 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London, leaving them with a 2-3 loss.
Saleh said in a statement 24 hours after leaving the Jets: “To the Jets Organization, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people. I will always be grateful for the love and support of everyone at 1 Jets Drive.
“To all the players: I truly love and appreciate all of you. The character of the men in the locker room made coaching you an ultimate privilege. Through all the ups and downs, you all showed up every day and attacked every moment.
“It was an honor for my fellow coaches and staff to work with all of you. You were all “all in” and made sacrifices for each other that will never be forgotten. I wish you all the best of luck for the rest of the season.
“To the most passionate fan base in the NFL, thank you for embracing my family. It was a pleasure to call New York our home and we will forever treasure all the memories created here. With love and respect, all gas, no brakes!!!’
