REVEALED: Netflix hired convicted stalker with prostitution charge as talking head for Zodiac killer murder documentary

Netflix hired a convicted stalker who was also accused of soliciting prostitution to serve as an expert on an upcoming docuseries about the Zodiac Killer.

Tom Voigt considers himself a leading expert on the serial killer who terrorized California in the late 1960s, having maintained a blog providing updates on the investigation for nearly three decades.

But his obsession with the case – and his own past criminal behavior – have come under scrutiny over the years.

Voigt proposed to his current wife Angie on December 20, 2018 on Lake Herman Road – the site of the first known Zodiac Killer deaths, 50 years to the day after the crimes were committed.

In total, the Zodiac Killer – whose identity has never been definitively revealed – targeted at least seven victims, five of whom died.

The three-part docuseries airs on October 23 and features interviews with people who knew Allen, along with Voigt (pictured) as the interview subject

He taunted officers with letters sent to newspapers threatening to start mass killings. He claimed to have killed 37 victims.

Voigt, of Columbia City, Oregon, has been following the case for decades on his own blog, along with Reddit threads and social media forums.

DailyMail.com can reveal that Voigt was convicted in 2005 of four counts of stalking and violating Oregon’s anti-stalking protection order.

He was placed on community corrections probation and ordered to complete 160 hours of community service.

Additionally, in 1991, Voigt was charged with prostitution – a Class A misdemeanor involving solicitation of sexual services.

Voigt faced stalking charges in 2018 during a Reddit Q&A seminar about his work to unmask the Zodiac Killer.

Another user wrote: ‘Is he too busy stalking women to answer the questions or what’s going on…?’

Voigt responded, “I can multitask.”

DailyMail.com asked Netflix for comment on his inclusion in the upcoming documentary and whether producers were aware of Voigt’s convictions.

They declined to comment.

Voigt has also come under fire for creating a line of merchandise that takes advantage of the Zodiac Killer and his victims.
