Alabama star Malachi Moore slams opponent’s head into the turf as he suffers epic meltdown during upset loss to Vanderbilt
Tensions ran high toward the end of Alabama’s shocking loss to Vanderbilt, with defensive back Malachi Moore having a meltdown as the game slipped away.
The unranked Commodores earned a historic 40-35 victory over the Crimson Tide. It was the school’s first win over a No. 1 team in history.
Vanderbilt fans celebrated by tearing down the goalposts and dumping them in a river. Moore, meanwhile, struggled to contain his frustration as Alabama suffered its first loss of the season.
With barely a minute left, he could be seen taking off his mouthguard and hurling it across the field as Vanderbilt turned back the clock.
The 23-year-old could then be seen shouting in frustration even as the game unfolded around him.

Moments later, after a QB knee from Vanderbilt, the officials saw the ball almost halfway. Moore then intervened and kicked it away, which immediately led to a flag.
Another clip, which appeared online after the game, showed the safety slamming the head of Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia into the ground after a tackle.
Moore could be seen grabbing Pavia’s face mask and throwing his opponent’s head back. The images sparked backlash among college football fans on social media.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a draft prospect destroy his entire stock in a kneeling session, but if Malachi Moore had dreamed of getting drafted, he’d have to go ahead and plan a funeral, they’re dead and gone. now,” one supporter wrote.
“Pure leadership from the graduate student here,” another added.
Some even used Moore’s meltdown to suggest that standards in Tuscaloosa had dropped since legendary coach Nick Saban was replaced by Kalen DeBoer earlier this year.
“Malachi Moore wouldn’t have a locker in the morning if Saban was the head coach,” one social media user wrote.
