Halle Berry called out the “seedy s***” in Hollywood as she responded to director Matthew Vaughn and revealed he quit X-Men 3 due to studio cheating on her in a resurfaced clip.
The Catwoman actress, 58 – who recently went topless to show off her toned figure in a racy way – most notably portrayed the character of Storm in the X-Men franchise.
Vaughn opened up about why he dropped out of the third film at New York Comic Con last October, claiming Berry was given a fake script so she could sign on for the film.
She reposted the earlier interview on her social media accounts on Saturday and shared her thoughts on the cheating.
In the caption on Instagram, Halle wrote to her followers: ‘You just never know the dark things that happen behind your back! Thank you Matthew Vaughn for bringing the darkness to light.”

Vaughn opened up about why he dropped out of the third film (seen above) at New York Comic Con last October, claiming that Berry was given a fake script so she could sign up for the film.
Berry most notably played the role of Storm (aka Ororo Munroe) in X-Men, which premiered in 2000.
She continued to play the character – who has the power to manipulate the weather and also create lightning storms – in the sequels.
The third installment in the franchise – which Vaughn left – was called X-Men: The Last Stand and was released in 2006.
At New York Comic Con last October, Matthew explained how executives from Fox – which sold its entertainment business to Disney years later – produced a fake script that they thought would appeal to the Academy Award-winning actress.
“I thought, if you’re going to do that with an Oscar-winning actress playing Storm, I’m going to stop; I thought, ‘I’m chopped,'” Vaughn said during a panel, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Vaughn said that in an effort to rope Berry into the project, Fox produced an extended script based around Berry’s character Storm.
It featured a huge sequence at the beginning of the film, and elements of the storyline that they had no intention of actually including in the final product.
“One of the main reasons I left X-Men 3, and this is a true story: Hollywood is really political and weird,” the director said.

“I went to a director’s office and saw an X3 script. It was a lot fatter. I asked, “What is this design?” They said, ‘Don’t worry.’
Vaughn said he read a sequence designed to convince The Monster’s Ball star to reprise her role in the film franchise.
‘I picked it up and opened the first page and it said, “Africa. Children are dying from no water, and Storm is causing a thunderstorm to save all these children” – I thought it was a pretty cool idea.’
He continued: ‘I said, ‘What is this?’ They said, “This is the Halle Berry script, because she hasn’t signed on yet. This is what she wants it to be. And as soon as she signs on, we’re going to throw it in the trash.”
Berry would eventually sign on for the film, joining an ensemble cast that included Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer and Elliot Page.
Vaughn initially replaced X2 director Bryan Singer on the franchise and would eventually be replaced by Brett Ratner for the 2006 film.
The film was a financial success, grossing approximately $460 million worldwide.

Berry would return to the film franchise with 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past; and teamed up with Vaughn in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
A few months earlier, in August, Berry revealed that she almost had the chance to step back into the shoes of Storm in Shawn Levy’s Deadpool & Wolverine – which was released in July.
During an interview with Comic bookthe Monster’s Ball actress claimed that Blake Lively wanted her to reprise the role.
However, her husband Ryan Reynolds – who plays Deadpool in the film – never reached out and asked Halle to do so.
“Blak [Lively] ‘ I once wondered. I ran into her at a Marc Jacobs fashion show and she said, “Would you ever be in my husband’s movie as Storm?” I said, ‘Yes, if he asked me,’ but he never asked me.”

Halle has been keeping busy and attended the world premiere of her latest film – a suspense horror film titled Never Let Go – in New York last month.
She played a leading role in the film, which hit theaters a few weeks earlier, on September 20.
At the event, she wowed in a halter-style dress that clung to her body and featured striped shades of gold, brown, orange and silver.
The fabric of the dress shimmered under the bright lights and was held up with chain-like details that wrapped around her neck.
And this past weekend she shared behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of Never Let Go – showing off fake armpit hair as she transformed into her character

In the caption, Berry wrote, “Mama in the making. One of the most complex characters I’ve had the pleasure of embodying. #NeverLetGo is everywhere in cinemas!’

She could be seen sitting in a chair with her arm across her torso as she took a quick mirror selfie in a dimly lit room.
