- Woman and child missing after house fire
- The roof of one unit collapsed, while two others were damaged
A child is among two injured while another remains missing after a unit went up in flames for almost an hour.
Firefighters rushed to the house on Bayside Court in Thorneside, east Brisbane, at around 7.15am on Sunday after reports of a house on fire.
They managed to extinguish the fire around 8 a.m., but not before three units were damaged and the roof of one collapsed.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said a primary school-age child suffered life-threatening injuries during the fire.
Paramedics are treating another person at the scene for smoke inhalation and he is in stable condition.
The spokesperson said there had been reports of a person who should have been in the home and was still missing.
Searches of the property have been postponed until it can be stabilized due to the severe damage caused by the fire.
Local MP Don Brown said he was at the scene of the ‘terrible house fire’ and offered his condolences to the ‘family and community’.
