Massive pop star ‘set for really special slot at Glastonbury 2025 for the first time in almost a decade’
Ed Sheeran has been tipped to perform at Glastonbury 2025.
The pop star, 33, last played the Worthy Farm festival in 2017, but it has now been reported he could play a ‘special slot’ on Friday evening before resuming his European tour.
A source said The sun on Sunday: ‘Ed is thrilled to be performing at Glastonbury and singing on a grand scale in front of so many fans.
‘He doesn’t have any big gigs in Britain next summer, so this would be very special.’
The insider also teased that because the Shape Of You hitmaker has so many famous friends, there will undoubtedly be some special duets on stage at the end of June.

The source added, “He has a lot of famous friends, so if it comes out, he will definitely have some famous collaborations with him on stage.”
The Thinking Out Loud singer last graced the famous stage eight years ago, where he headlined the Pyramid Stage and performed songs including Castle on the Hill and Lego House.
At the time he was headlining alongside Radiohead and Foo Fighters, but joked that he was a bit ‘out of place’ in the line-up.
He told the BBC: ‘I’m definitely the one not on that list. But I find that exciting!’
Little is known about the line-up for next year’s festival, but it was recently reported that bosses were trying to land Eminem as headliner.
Meanwhile, it was thought that Oasis would fill the Legends slot during their huge comeback, but they insisted this was not the case.
Organizer Emily Eavis previously announced that the festival will take a break the following year, as is the tradition of taking a year off after every four or five stints.
She told Glastonbury Free Press: ‘We are taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the country some rest.
‘And the festival before a fallow year is always fun to plan, because you have to fit almost two years into one.’

Earlier this year, Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA were the three headliners, while country star Shania Twain took the Legends slot.
Next year Ed will undertake his Mathematics Tour of Europe, but following the release of his studio albums +, ÷, x, = and – he insisted he was ‘done’ with maths-themed titles.
Speaking on Australia’s ‘Carrie Tommy’ podcast, he said: ‘That’s it. There are only five.
“The other one will come out before I get to New Zealand [and Australia] to do the tour.”
