It has already been brutally criticized by viewers who called it ‘boring’ and ‘insanely cringe-inducing’ after the first episode aired on Channel 5 on Monday night.
And now even the stars of Gogglebox have their sights set on Phillip Schofield’s TV comeback Cast Away.
The 62-year-old disgraced TV presenter returned to screens for the first time since being booted from ITV’s This Morning last year after admitting lying about his relationship with a much younger male colleague.
In the show, the broadcaster is stranded on a desert island off the coast of Madagascar for ten days, without food or water and without a production crew.
In the first episode, Phillip searched for food and water, set up camp and battled high winds, before dramatically getting lost in the dark and unable to find his way back to camp.

The 62-year-old disgraced TV presenter returned to screens for the first time since being booted from ITV’s This Morning last year after admitting lying about his relationship with a much younger male colleague.
Gogglebox stars Pete and Sophie Sandiford weren’t afraid to give their thoughts on the former presenter’s comeback as they filmed a recent episode of the Channel 4 show.
They got to see the first episode, where Phillip says, “If you’re going to throw someone under the bus, you have to have a really good reason for it.”
Sophie quickly started to rage: “You created the bus and then put your foot on it,” while Pete agreed: “You created, drove and threw yourself under the bus!”
“So…” Sophie added, before Pete asked sarcastically, “Who’s to blame?”
Fans rushed to X to agree with the brother-sister duo, writing, “You’re getting canceled for doing things that aren’t right.
“It may not be illegal, but it’s wrong. No one else did it except Phillip himself. No one is for him. He wasn’t thrown under a bus. He put himself in front of a bus if there was anything wrong. #Gogglebox #Castaway.”
‘Oh, no! I avoided that chuffing Phillip Schofield smug show and I should have realized it would be on here! #Gogglebox.”
