Peaky Blinders filming continues with a bang as explosions are heard in Liverpool city centre

Filming for Peaky Blinders film The Immortal Man continued on Friday as the cast headed to Liverpool’s St Georges Hall for their latest scenes.

The cast gathered outside as the historic building was converted into a bomb shelter as multiple explosions went off.

Bright orange lights and smoke were seen coming from the area to mimic the flames as the cast filmed at night.

A large green double-decker bus was also seen on set, but lead actor Cillian Murphy was not spotted.

No significant cast members could be discerned in the explosions, as they appeared to be additional cast members gathering outside.

“Peaky has always been a story about family – which is why it is incredibly exciting to be reunited with Steve and Cillian to bring the film on Netflix to audiences around the world.”

Peaky Blinders launched in 2013 and attracted huge audiences both in the UK and abroad, landing roles for silver screen stars such as Tom Hardy and Anya Taylor-Joy.

The program is loosely based on a real-life Birmingham gang of the same name, operating between 1880 and 1920, who engaged in the same illegal activities as their fictional counterparts.

Peaky Blinders aired six series in nine years and ended with Tommy, led to believe he had a terminal illness, surviving an assassination attempt orchestrated by his own cousin before killing him and moving for a new life.
