Rosario Dawson oozes cool in black leather jacket during appearance for a conversation at LA Comic Con

Actress Rosario Dawson helped kick off the first day of LA Comic Con, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The event is marketed as three days of comics, gaming, cosplay, anime and pop culture website.

The Rent star had a meet-and-greet with her adoring fans, where she signed autographs and posed for photos before moving on to the next event.

The actress then took the stage as part of Spotlight On: Rosario Dawson, where she presented some of her biggest and most impactful roles, and what they have meant to her and fans over the years.

Some of the more beloved characters she has played include Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, as well as Claire Temple in Daredevil and Luke Cage.

The character Ahsoka has long been set in the Star Wars universe, first appearing in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), followed by a number of animated TV shows.

All that came before Dawson first stepped into the role for the second season of the hit series The Mandalorian (2020), created by Jon Favreau.

β€œI remember meeting our Princess Leia, our Carrie Fisher, at a con in Chicago, and seeing how the fans were with her β€” and you know, I had done some readings with Mark Hamill,” the New York native shared City while on stage, according to WPVI TV.

β€œTo be able to use the force, and be in this space where I can legitimately and officially say, ‘May the force be with you,’ I remember watching the episode of The Mandalorian with my mother and say at the end, and my mom literally liked it, this slow head turn from the screen to my face, and it looked like she had tears in her eyes,” she explained.

Dawson then shared more stories about her long relationship with Star Wars as a fan and as an artist.

“I literally just took a picture of my grandson next to an R2-D2 and a C-3PO with that whole sticker thing that was on this whole mural and said, ‘The force is strong on this one.’ And I thought, “It’s come full circle, guys! It’s beautiful.”

The actress also played the role of fearless nurse Claire Temple in several Marvel TV series, including Daredevil (2015-2016), Jessica Jones (2015), Luke Cage (2016-2018), Iron Fist (2017) and The Defenders ( 2017).

β€œI think one of my favorite things about playing Claire was how many nurses and healthcare people reached out to me,” she told the captivated audience.

Dawson then talked about how she became friends with a fan who works as a night nurse.

“I just remember how much it meant to him to have that kind of character so elevated, and in so many of the different shows, and to show how heroic and necessary her contribution was, not only to keep these other heroes safe, but just to be general,” she said of the side benefits of playing a character like Claire Temple.

In addition to shows like The Mandalorian and her stint as Claire Temple, Dawson’s television acting resume includes Jane The Virgin (2018–2019), The Last Kids On Earth (2020), It’s Ponu (2020–2022) and Go-Big Show. (2021–2022).
