Shoppers race to Target to buy $120 household item for just $35

Shoppers rushed to Target to take advantage of a huge discount on Amazon’s Kindle, dropping the price from $119 to just $35.

The shopping spree started after a TikTok user shared how she managed to get her hands on one of the discounted devices.

The offer only applied to the Kindle Kids 6 inch e-Reader released in 2022.

“So a little bird told me, like in a video I saw on TikTok, that Target is selling the (Kindle Kids) at a really discounted price of $35. So of course I drove over here to see if it’s true.”

Targeted shoppers could get the $119 Kindle for Kids for as little as $35 at some stores

She couldn’t find one on the shelves, so she asked a store employee who then came out of the storeroom with one of the discounted devices.

“I jumped for joy when they took it out of the trunk because there was nothing on the shelf,” she said.

Deeva wasn’t the only one to land this amazing deal.

One video commentator said they could have also bought it for $30.

Another commented on her second video, in which she unboxed her new Kindle, saying, “Getting a Kindle on clearance is such a defeat.”

Not every customer was so lucky: many stores were sold out or still selling the device at full price.

One comment read: ‘Clearance prices are NOT at all targets.’

Another wrote: ‘I didn’t get there in time. I missed it.’

“All the stores in my area are either completely out of stock or selling it at full price,” said another.

Rumor has it that the reduced prices are due to the release of a new version of the Kindle coming out soon.

Deeva responded to a commenter who didn’t make it in time for the sale: “There are rumors that a new version of the Kindle is coming out next year and that’s why it was on clearance so I would keep it for more sales in the future.’

The new Kindle release could bring a better 6-inch backlit screen, faster pages, higher resolution and larger text.

The outlet reported that the Kindle release could happen sooner than expected, with a new green color instead of the typical black.
