Rasmus Hojlund has responded to angry Manchester United fans following an Instagram post following the team’s 3-3 draw with Porto on Thursday.
Hojlund scored his first goal for the Red Devils this season to put Erik ten Hag’s side 2-0 ahead of their Portuguese rivals in the Europa League.
But United squandered their two-goal lead and needed a 91st-minute goal from Harry Maguire to salvage a 3–3 draw.
It was a disappointing performance from United, who also lost Bruno Fernandes to a red card in the 81st minute.
But the result didn’t stop Hojlund from posting to Instagram after the match, uploading several photos of his goal celebration.

However, United squandered their 2–0 lead and needed a late equalizer as the match finished 3–3
The Dane wrote in the post: ‘Luckily I had six weeks to practice my party. A win would have made it perfect.”
Not all United fans were enthralled, however, with some criticizing Hojlund for posting so quickly after a poor result that added to the pressure on under-fire Ten Hag.
Hojlund did not delete the post, but has since responded to angry supporters on his Instagram Story.
“I’ve seen some anger about my post yesterday,” Hojlund wrote.
‘That was never my intention… I was just happy to get back on the scoresheet after a tough few weeks of not being able to play and score.
‘Obviously we are going for the win and I will give everything to make you happy, sorry that yesterday’s post was not the case.
“Let’s move on and get ready to give it our all again on Sunday.”
Hojlund’s goal against Porto came in his first start of the season, when he suffered a muscle injury in his first pre-season match.

The 3-3 draw against Porto kept the pressure on Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag
He replaced summer signing Joshua Zirkzee at the center of United’s attack and will hope to reprise his role when the Red Devils face Aston Villa on Sunday.
The visit to Villa Park threatens to be a crucial match for Ten Hag as he fights to save his job amid a poor start to the season.
United are 13th in the league after losing three of six Premier League matches this season and are yet to win in the Europa League after drawing their opening match 1-1 against FC Twente.
