A disappointed Australian foodie has criticized Wagamama for being ‘expensive’, saying its dishes have ‘no flavour’.

Calvin Chang, who is originally from Australia but now lives in London, decided to dine at the Asian-inspired restaurant with his friend.

The content creator said he was “excited” to try out Wagamama due to the number of influencers raving about it.

He filmed himself tucking into a colorful noodle dish and seemed less than impressed with his first bite.

‘I literally had to dip mine in soy sauce to make it edible. I know you’re thinking, ‘Oh, you just get what you paid for,’ but no, it wasn’t cheap.”

Calvin then captioned the video: ‘PS I know we didn’t get ripped off…we just didn’t expect the prices for the quality of the meal.’

The clip received almost 77,000 likes, as many users commented that they had had similar experiences.

One wrote: ‘Which I thought most British people (at least in London) know Wagamama is rubbish, who is lying to you?’

Another wrote: ‘I can’t stand Wagamama, terrible food, no taste at all. Plus the price was ridiculous, that price for food was stupid.”

Wagamama had restaurants in Australia before 2014, when its franchisee, Edible Concept Holdings Ptd Ltd, went bankrupt.

About 200 employees lost their jobs as a result of the closure after the franchise first launched in Australia in 2005.

The franchise partner Wagamama stores were not operated by the same British Wagamama Group, but the two companies were believed to have worked closely together.
